Burning the carpet

IMG_3242Okay, okay so we ended up with some burns in the carpet but you know what, we can learn from that; just like the way that the children who attended Trust4Learning’s Celebrating Science event learned a huge amount about practical application of science. The forensic teams tested blood and identified materials through flame tests while the brilliant John Kilcoyne inspired all of the children with amazing experiments that certainly caught their attention (and noses!).IMG_3251

Whilst all this was going on the teachers who had accompanied the children were getting quality CPD around thinking skills and practical classroom activities. The feedback from everyone involved was incredibly positive and we would highly recommend future events to any school that would like to attend. Details of future events will be appearing on our website soon.

Although Trust4Learning is based around a collaborative group of schools, any school is welcome to attend their events. In fact, the quality of the events, being backed by the National Science Centre Network, have consistently received fabulous feedback from delegates who feel that they come away having had a great day but with real activities and ideas for immediate use back in the classroom.
